The Great and Powerful Supernatural Guide (first draft)

May. 5th, 2012 | 08:14 pm

Yeah, I'm not super-useful when it comes to the fandom stuff. I'm not super-creative (I can monkey with other people's stuff! watch my extraordinary editing abilities! ...yeah) or super-smart (I can.. read other people's complex thoughts and understand them, but contribute nothing of my own!) But I am okay at research, so, while this is not comprehensive in any way, and I'll be adding onto it as a find new things and feel like it, here is my list of:

The DON'T PANIC (imagine big friendly letters) List

Apr. 22nd, 2010 | 03:01 pm

So, I'm yoinking this from a post of mine on the IMDb message boards, mostly because I want my journal to be cooler and have more Supernatural-y things in it. Also, because I'm tired of bumping that list again and again and again. No more! So...

I'll update with links later. Right now, snacks!

Supernatural in Print (rough draft)

May. 5th, 2009 | 05:22 pm

I think I've discovered what I'm going to use my journal for: gathering things I don't want to have to find a billion times :) So, in the spirit of gathering, these are all the books (upcoming or released) that have to do with Supernatural. I'll update as I get more info. or other books are announced.

The Books of Supernatural:

Supernatural: Nevermore by Keith R. A. DeCandido, the first paperback novel, comes out in Septemeber. Candido has many TV-series-based novels under his belt, including a number of Buffy the Vampire Slayer novelizations. You can check out his livejournal: [info]kradical and take a look at the released coverart.

Supernatural: Witch's Canyon by Jeff Mariotte, the second paperback novel, comes out in November.

Supernatural: Book of Monsters, Spirits, Demons, and Ghouls comes out in September.

Supernatural: The Official Companion Season 1 comes out in September (June in the UK).

Supernatural Origins: the prequel comic series. There are six planned currently; the first was released on May 2, 2007. Buy #1 (still the original print) online here: first issue! and preorder #2 here: second issue! Or find a comic book store near you http://csls.diamondcomics.com/

Well, until I can find more info on the middle three, Amazon links and release months will have to do. (*has internal dialogue* "Postable?" "Meh. Not so much." "But only, like 3 people read your journal anyway." "Good point, brain." *posts*)

I'm posting to my livejournal? Whaaaaa?

Jul. 6th, 2007 | 08:00 pm

I went to visit my grandma this Wednesday, since she's recovering from knee replacement surgery and on the way home I was feeling sort of angsty, but in a good way, and the oldies station played the full version of "American Pie" and "The Night Chicago Died" and "Hot Rod Lincoln," so I totally sang at the top of my lungs and car danced like a maniac. Also, it had just stopped storming, so the sky and my general mood made me want to take pictures. Out the window of my car. While driving 75 mph. Because safety is important, kids. Remember that.

So, even though I'll never be mistaken for Ansel Adams (ever), the clouds are pretty, so here they be:

What I Did On My Fourth of July Vacation )

ETA: Sorry if my photos attacked you. (Stupid Internet).
ETA2: Has anybody noticed that my "voice" changes when I post to LJ? I mean, e-mails, I'm good. IMing, still cool. Message boarding, no problem, but as soon as I get here, I freeze up and everything sounds...wrong. Freaks me right the heck out. Okay, carry on.

I MISS YOU, INTERNET FRIENDS!

That's it. That's all I have to say. I don't wanna talk about my job. Just hold me.

P.S. Hope life is good on y'all sides of the world.

There is nothing like a dame? (God, that's lame *L*)

The Classic Dames Test

Your Score:Myrna Loy

You scored 16% grit, 14% wit, 28% flair, and 52% class!

You are class itself, the calm, confident "perfect woman." Men turn and look at you admiringly as you walk down the street, and even your rivals have a grudging respect for you. You always know the right thing to say, do and, of course, wear. You can take charge of a situation when things get out of hand, and you're a great help to your partner even if they don't immediately see or know it. You are one classy dame. Your screen partners include William Powell and Cary Grant, you little simmerpot, you.

Thoughts on the "Classic Dames" Quiz

  1. It totally lies.

  2. Why can't I remember any movies this woman has been in?

  3. When did I start taking (and posting the results to) random Internet quizzes I totally don't care about?

  4. The HTML for the quiz results? Lackluster would be an understatement (which you can probably tell by it's odd spacing and general lack of coolness). Still: *is suddenly a markup snob* *L*

Hee! This looks awful, but I've done all I can! *posts willy-nilly*

How Geek am I?

Jun. 2nd, 2007 | 01:40 pm

76% Geek

That's right, folks. Despite the fact that half the questions are about computer-related things (which is really not my flavor of geek), I still managed to get a 76%. Whatever. You're just jealous *L*

wee bit o' the funny

Did you all miss the Great LJ Strikethrough 2007? I hope so. It was stressful and headache-inducing. But, in case you haven't friended [info]kroki_refur (and, by the way, why haven't you?), she did a Very Special Edition of "Ten Expressions" in it's honor. It is quite with the humorousness (Don't mock my writing. My brain is broken today), but since it's not directly related to the show, I'm only going to link it here, so LINK!

Okay, that's all I've got. *waits for So You Think You Can Dance to start*

I *like* being a number

May. 30th, 2007 | 03:15 pm

Look! I post!

Go join [info]fandom_counts They're trying to get a figure on how many people on LJ are members of a fandom. There aren't any posts in the comm, so it won't clog your flist; all you have to do is join and that's all she wrote. Oh, and tell your other LJ fandom friends (and the world shall know that we are legion! *ahem* Sorry).

Forgetfulness is my calling *Really*

May. 21st, 2007 | 02:38 pm

So, I was sick yesterday, but that's really no excuse, because I only had one thing to do. ONE! I woke up this morning at an ungodly hour to very loud honking noise “What the hell is that? Who's making ungodly honking noises at, what is it 5? (At first, I wanted to blame my upstairs neighbor, she of the 4 am aerobics and 6 am Saturday vacuuming), then I realized even she couldn't make noises that loud. Suddenly, after the third honk, it hit me like a wave and I jumped out of my bed in panic and ran to the front window. There were 4 large trucks and mine was the only car in the parking lot. So I ran outside in flip flops, short gym shorts and a flannel (for modesty *L*), haphazard French braids, no glasses, spare keys, and traipsed in front of 20-odd construction workers to move my car so that the apartment complex could seal the parking lot. Joy. Then proceeded to try and start my car (which I haven't used more than twice n the past week because it’s having engine issues - yay public transportation!) and put my head on the steering wheel, praying it would start (while they all watched). 2 minutes later, it did (thank God) and I drove around blind for a good 10 minutes in the complex, since I couldn't read the map of which parking lots were okay to park in (and not wanting t take other people’s spaces) and finally settled on a small stretch with 3 cars with out-of-state plates (they won't tow visitors, right?) Anyway, I then paraded myself back to my apartment in my half-clothed, half-awake all-panicked glory as my hermitsh neighbor quickly shut her door to show that she wasn't watching me, came back inside and vowed to never ever think of it again - until sharing with y'all, of course.

Mondays should be illegal.

Am I the only one who didn't know that HTML on LJ is just regular ol' HTML and not some sort of weird "update with our secret-code-like HTML" that other sites seem to have? *rubs hands together* HTML I can do. *twirls with the joy of life getting easier* No more button-searching and crying for me! No siree bob.

Also. Today may or may not be.....SUPERNATURAL DAY!

(I'm guessing they don't do style sheets here. That's okay. I can work with this.)

*doesn't actually use HTML in HTML post* *twirls* *L*

Help? Please? With the LJness?

May. 4th, 2007 | 05:47 pm

I finally found something I want to make into a header and I don't have any idea how to do it. How does one do these things? I mean, sure, I could research it, but you guys might actually know and that would be better, right? *makes puppy dog eyes* *bribes with sexhair icon*

You can tell how cool victory arms day is by my using the Dean sexhair icon. (Dean Sexhair Icon! \o/ *L*)

Good morning, starshines

Apr. 20th, 2007 | 11:56 am
mood: happy happy

Yeah, it's noon where I am, but I'm okay with that.

So, I realized some things last night:
  1. I really like hanging out with my friends on the IMDb board, not that I didn't know that before, but seriously (plus, I had gotten down on myself a little about hanging out too much on the Internet. Whatever! I like it here and they make me happy).
  2. I design stuff better when I'm relaxed and not trying too hard or worrying about it too much. So, note to self: always design stuff after watching Supernatural and/or when talking to Internet friends.
  3. This means I'm probably going to have to scrap my entire first draft of the P!WT comic due to designing under stress. (this should've been 2b, but I can't figure out lists).

Other thoughts (non-realization-related):
  1. Supernatural was lame last night.
  2. Except for Dean's post-sex hair, which was adorable.

Anyway. Feeling good, feeling fine and trying like heck to use this journal :)

Observations

Apr. 19th, 2007 | 03:29 pm
mood: blah blah

I want to keep up with the cool kids. *is lame* In honor of that, I'm going to try and post some completely random things here instead of oppressing people with them on my regular message boards.  So...

Observations on buying belts:
1. Belts are far more expensive than I thought
2. When shopping for belts in the men's department, guys look at you like you're putting on makeup in the men's bathroom (What are you doing here? You don't belong here. I'm confused and quite uncomfortable)
3. Of all the things my mother could have passed on to me, did it have to be her hips?

That's all I've got right now. Possibly more to come at a later time. :)

So, this is LiveJournal.

Feb. 14th, 2007 | 05:30 pm

It feels weird to have absolutely nothing up on my page, so just in case someone stumbles in here (highly unlikely considering my lack of thoughtfulness and care regarding, you know, tags and filling things in about myself), I'm basically here to keep up with the Plastic!Winchesters over at [info]anteka's and to try and help out with promoting Supernatural  at [info]promote_spn and it seemed easier to sign up than bookmark and refresh their pages over and over and over again. So, here I am. Feel free to stare in wonder at the blankness that is my LiveJournal. I'm told the layout thingy is Tranquility II, so, who knows? It may work. :)
